Rheem RTGH condensing tankless (RTGH-84/95, Performance Platinum ECOH): quick sheet
Covers: Rheem RTGH 'Super High Efficiency' condensing indoor tankless: RTGH-84DVLN, RTGH-95DVLN (current suffix -3), Wi-Fi versions RTGH-95DVELN-3, and the similar Performance Platinum ECOH160DVLN-3 with EcoNet and LeakGuard. RTG (non-condensing) is a different line.
Rheem's big-box and wholesale condensing tankless. Identify by the RTGH or ECOH prefix, a digital temperature display, PVC venting and a condensate drain. Many installs are DIY-adjacent, so venting, gas sizing and scale are frequent root causes.
Safety first
- Gas, combustion and venting are blocked.
- Disconnect 120 V before opening.
- Scald risk at 140 °F settings.
How it works
Flow above the activation threshold starts the combustion sequence; input modulates from about 11,000 up to 199,900 BTU/h on the 95 model.
A condensing secondary heat exchanger recovers flue heat; condensate must drain.
Set temperature range on the display is about 100-140 °F; maximum water temperature is 140 °F.
The display shows a maintenance or service code when it detects a fault; Wi-Fi models report through EcoNet.
