Well pump short cycling (waterlogged tank / pressure switch)
Short cycling is usually a pressure tank that has lost its air charge (waterlogged) or a precharge set wrong for the switch. It wears out the pump motor and pressure switch quickly.
Before you start
- Pressure switch has exposed 240 V terminals (on most residential pumps): breaker OFF and verify dead before opening the cover
- System is under pressure: drain before servicing the tank
