Blue, gray, oily or dark spots on clothes after washing
Colored and oily spots are almost always laundry product, not a machine fault: liquid softener landing undiluted on fabric, overfilled dispenser compartments that flush product in too early, or detergent that does not dissolve. Gray or dark smudges can also be residue and mildew from a dirty machine, or clothes left damp in the drum. Machine causes (grease from a failing tub seal, rust) are rare and come with other symptoms.
