Washer overfills or won't stop filling
One quick test splits the job in two: kill power while it is overfilling. If water keeps coming with no power, the inlet valve is stuck open mechanically. If water stops, the valve is being told to stay open, so look at level sensing (pressure hose, air dome, level switch/sensor) and then the control. Siphoning (water leaving through the drain while filling) can look like a washer that never stops filling.
Before you start
- Shut both water faucets first if water is on the floor
- Unplug the washer before touching anything if water has reached the floor or the motor/control area
