Range or wall oven shows LOC, Lock or a padlock and won't respond
Most of these calls are the Control Lock (child lock) feature, which disables the pads and on some models locks the door. It is released with a press-and-hold on a specific pad, and the key differs by brand and model. Some ovens also lock the panel automatically during self-clean, a probe cook or twin-cavity modes. Only if the lock will not release, or comes back after a power reset, is it a door-lock or control fault.
Before you start
- If the door is locked after a self-clean, do not force it open; let the oven cool fully first
- Use the breaker for the power reset; do not unplug a hardwired range
