Range install and anti-tip bracket

Every freestanding and slide-in range must be secured with the anti-tip bracket that ships with it, fixed to the wall or floor and engaged by the rear foot. Electric ranges connect with a cord to a 240 V receptacle; gas connections are for a licensed gas installer.

Before you start

  • A range without an engaged anti-tip bracket can tip forward when weight is put on the open door: this has caused serious injuries and deaths, so never skip it.
  • Gas connection, gas line and leak testing: BLOCKED, refer to a licensed gas installer.
  • Unplug / breaker off before working behind an electric range.
