Portable AC window kit install: sliding and hung windows, casement and awning windows, and the exhaust hose

A portable AC dumps its heat through the exhaust hose, so the install is about the hose and the window seal. The supplied kit (adjustable sealing panel plus hose adapter) is built for sliding or hung windows. Casement and awning windows need an aftermarket or custom panel (rigid acrylic or polycarbonate cut to the opening) or a fabric seal kit. Keep the hose as short and straight as possible, seal every gap around the panel, and leave the clearance behind the unit the manual asks for.
