Field pattern: Miele dishwasher F11 drain fault (non-return valve seating, filter and pump cover before a pump)

Miele F11 is a drain fault. On many older series the non-return valve in the sump is either blocked (pit, glass) or was put back crooked after cleaning; on 2019-on G 5000 / G 7000 series the drain pump cover not being locked is the usual cause. The wrong turn is pulling the unit to replace the drain pump before reseating the valve or cover and checking the drain hose.

Before you start

  • Switch off and unplug (or breaker off) before reaching into the sump
  • Gloves: glass splinters in the pump are hard to see
  • Pump voltage checks during drain are live-voltage tests
