Induction coil and IGBT power board (trained techs)
Induction boards rectify line voltage to a high DC bus and switch it at high frequency through IGBT transistors into a copper coil. Field work is limited to pan check, codes, input power, coil resistance and visual inspection; board-level repair is not a field job.
Before you start
- Trained technicians only
- The DC bus capacitors stay charged after power-off: turn off the breaker, wait, and verify near 0 V before touching the board
- Live-voltage tests: use a CAT III-rated meter, insulated probes and one hand; keep the other hand away from the chassis
- Glass cooktop is heavy and fragile; support it when lifting
