Guide · FreezerWork from power to control to start components. A click-hum-click pattern every few minutes usually means the compressor is not starting: check the start relay/overload. If the relay is good and the compressor still won't start, compressor diagnosis and replacement is sealed-system work to refer out.
Guide · FreezerIdentify which alarm (door, high temperature, power failure), silence it with the reset key, then fix the cause. Disabling alarms is not recommended because they protect food.
Guide · FreezerMost chest and many small upright freezers are manual defrost, so some frost is normal and must be removed when it reaches about 1/4 inch. Fast or patchy frost near the door points to a leaking gasket or heavy door use. On frost-free uprights, frost on the coil behind the panel means the defrost system has failed.
