Dishwasher overfills or keeps filling (water near the door or on the floor)

Normal fill is only an inch or two in the sump area. Overfill is either the inlet valve not closing (debris, scale, failed valve) or the control not being told to stop (float stuck or float switch failed, flow meter fault). Separate them by cutting power while it is overfilling. Suds can also look like overfill; rule them out first.

Dishwasher spray arm not spinning

Most stalled arms are blocked by dishes or have jets clogged with soil or scale. Next check the arm mount, the filter and water level, and finally the wash pump output. An arm needs both free movement and enough water pressure to turn.

Dishwasher trips the breaker or GFCI

A GFCI trip means current leaking to ground, often from a cracked heating element, water on heater terminals, or a leaking pump. Isolate loads one at a time with power off.
