Guide · DehumidifierRule out the easy causes first: setpoint already reached, room too cool, dirty filter, blocked airflow, or water going down a hose. Then confirm the compressor actually runs and the coil gets cold. A compressor that runs with a warm coil is a sealed-system failure: refer, do not repair.
Guide · DehumidifierConfirm it is a real fault: many units run the fan on after the compressor stops, and some stop the fan at setpoint. Then check for a jammed blade, a loose motor plug, the fan capacitor (on PSC motors) and the board output.
Guide · DehumidifierLight frost that comes and goes is normal: the defrost logic stops the compressor and runs the fan until it clears. Persistent ice means the room is too cold, airflow is restricted, the coil sensor has failed, or the refrigerant charge is low (sealed system, blocked).
